- Heat the oven to 350 Degrees F. Line two 9-inch pans with a thin dusting of a cooking spray or baking spray with flour combined & keep it aside.
- Take a medium-sized bowl & pour in the first set of ingredients i.e., sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder & salt. Stir them well.
- From the first set of ingredients, add eggs, milk, oil & vanilla to the bowl. Mix them well for 3 minutes with an electric mixer.
- Stir in the boiling water in to the prepared batter. Now pour the batter evenly in to the two prepared pans.
- Keep the pans in the preheated oven & bake for 30-35 minutes. Use a toothpick to check if cake is evenly baked – a toothpick inserted in cake will come out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes before removing them from pans to cool completely.
- Now use the second set of ingredients to make the frosting. Cream the butter with mixer until it is light & fluffy.
- Stir in the cocoa powder & confectioners’ sugar to the butter. Now add milk & vanilla alternately to it. Now beat the mixture to a spreading consistency.
- Split the cooked cake horizontally to form layers. Cover the top of each layer with the frosting and stack them onto a serving plate.
- Frost the outside of the cake evenly & serve.
