Chicken Lollipop Recipe

It’s that time of the year where in, we all look forward to host parties and entertain our favorite people. We like to cook the best of recipes and flaunt our cooking skills. I am sure most of you are prepping yourself for such occasions.

Try this perfect appetizer.  This will not only appeal your guests, but is also very easy to cook. This finger food is always a hit at any gathering. It is a hot and spicy appetizer made with drummettes or whole chicken wings. Both need to be frenched to get the shape of a lollipop. This is a fusion Indo-Chinese recipe. It can be tweaked to suit your taste. The same recipe can be used to cook grilled chicken lollipop.

Instructions
Marination Instruction
  1. Mix chicken lollipops, ginger-garlic paste, salt, ½ teaspoon crushed peppercorns and soy sauce in a bowl. Marinate the chicken for 1 hour.
Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai / wok.
  2. Combine ginger, garlic, red chili paste, refined flour, cornflour, salt and remaining crushed peppercorns in another bowl and mix well. Add eggs or little water and mix well till a thick batter is formed.
  3. Dip marinated lollipops in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till golden. Drain on absorbent paper. Alternatively, half fry the lollipops and store them in advance. You can re-fry them at the time of serving.
  4. Garnish with chopped spring onion greens and serve hot with chili-garlic sauce or szechuan sauce.
